Fab-Con, Inc. Helps Sponsor Charity Event for Cystic Fibrosis

HOUSTON, TX September 16, 2012 – Fab-Con, Inc. is helping to “add tomorrows every day” by participating in the Schlumberger Shoot for the Cure Event benefitting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation on Saturday, October 13, 2012. The two part event is to be held at the Greater Houston Gun Club & Bayou Club of Houston.

This year marks the 26th Annual Schlumberger Shoot for the Cure event. It will include a morning of sporting clays for men, women and young adult shooting enthusiasts. After the tournament, participants will continue into the evening with a casual dinner dance at the Bayou Club of Houston. A live and silent auction for Cystic Fibrosis will follow.

Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide). A defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that: clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections; and obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has been the driving force behind the pursuit of a cure for this debilitating disease since 1955. Thanks to the dedication and financial backing of supporters like Fab-Con, Inc., patients, families, clinicians, researchers, volunteers, individual donors, corporations and staff, there is hope on the horizon for a cure.

“Many thanks for supporting our great event,” says Kim Organ, Development Director for The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, “We truly appreciate the generosity of supporters like Fab-Con.”
